USB Mice
(Tried a Creative NoteBook Optical model NMU90S)

USB to CF-card readers:
Tried a 'stick-shaped' one.
(Looks like a USB memory-stick, but with a slot for the CF-card along one side)

USB xxx-in-one card reader.
Older Apacer model, with both a 1GB CF-card and a small SD-card at the same time.

USB Memory-sticks:
(May create a separate topic if others report similar problems with specific sticks)
Kingston 128MB Datatraveller. - For one reason or another, my 1GB Datatraveller isn't recognised.
Sandisk Cruzer micro 4GB.

USB Keyboard.

I'll update the list in this post as and when users comments.

Although neither of my 2.5 inch external drives work (probably not enough juice from the USB port) my Maxell 12GB USB drive works just fine.

Isn't it possible that those drives are formatted to NTFS rather than FAT32??

I have installed v7 kernel and large disk support patch on my CnM Minibook and my 20GB and 30GB USB hard disks work fine, but I don't rely on the minibook for power. I power them externally.
