The FP-12 'Mini thermal Printer' sure live up to it's name when it comes to paper size, the paper is only 37mm (1.5") wide and 13mm(0.5") diameter...
It is designed to fit snugly at the back of the FA-3 Cassette Adapter, but can also be connected directly.

It's powered by a 4x1.2V AAA size Ni-cad battery pack, and recharged with the CHA-1 Charger. (4.8V 20mA) It will not run off the Charger since it draws up to 4Watts while printing. (almost 1A) The estimated printing time on a full recharge is up to 30 minutes. (A guess based on 150-200mA Ni-cad's and almost 1A power requirememnts)

The only control on the printer is the (Form) [FEED] button. This will only work if the printer is connected to a PB-100 that is powered and ON.

Underneath, there is two 'slots', one holds the cover for the expansion connector on the FA-3 or PB-100, and the other presumably holds the cover for the connector on the Printer itself. (I don't have this cover though.)
There is also a 'thumbwheel' to screw the printer onto the FA-3 adapter.
